Strive and Struggle

GO YE FORTH, (WHETHER EQUIPPED)
LIGHTLY OR HEAVILY, AND STRIVE
AND STRUGGLE, WITH YOUR GOODS
AND YOUR PERSONS, IN THE CAUSE
OF GOD. THAT IS BEST
FOR YOU, IF YE (BUT KNEW).

(The Holy Quran, Chapter: 9, Verse: 41)

Argue in ways that are best

Invite (all) to the Way
Of thy Lord with wisdom
And beautiful preaching;
And argue with them
In ways that are best
And most gracious:
For thy Lord knoweth best,
Who have strayed from His Path,
And who receive guidance.

And if ye punish, let your punishment
Be proportionate to the
Wrong that has been
Done to you:
But if ye show patience,
That is indeed the best (course)
For those who are patient.

And do thou be patient,
For thy patience is but with the help
From God; nor grieve over them:
And distress not thyself
Because of their plots.

For God is with those
Who restrain themselves
And those who do good.

Unity is the Message

And hold fast,
All together, by the Rope
Which God (stretches out
For you), and be not divided
Among yourselves;
And remember with gratitude
God's favour on you;
For ye were enemies
And He joined your hearts
In love, so that by His Grace,
Ye became brethren;
And ye were on the brink
Of the Pit of Fire,
And He saved you from it.
Thus doth God make
His Signs clear to you:
That ye may be guided.

(The Holy Quran, Chapter: 3, Verse: 103)

Day of Judgment

And the Day that the Trumpet
Will be sounded - then will be
Smitten with terror those
Who are in the heavens,
And those who are on earth,
Except such as Allah will please
(To exempt): and all shall come
To Him in utter humility.

Thou seest the mountains
And thinkest them firmly fixed:
But they shall pass away
As the clouds pass away:
(Such is) the artistry of God,
Who disposes of all things
In perfect order: for He is
Well acquainted with all that ye do.

(The Holy Quran, Chapter: 27, Verses: 87,88)

Grace Unbounded

And know ye
That your possessions
And your progeny
Are but a trial:
And that it is God
With whom lies
Your highest reward.

O ye who believe!
If ye fear God,
He will grant you a Criterion
(To judge between right and wrong),
Remove from you (all) evil deeds
And forgive you:
For God is the Lord
Of grace unbounded.

Remember how the Unbelievers
Plotted against thee, to keep
Thee in bonds, or slay thee,
Or get thee out (of thy home).
They plot and plan,
And God too plans,
But the best of planners
Is God.

Ramadan Reading

How many are the creatures
That carry not their own
sustenance? It is God
Who feeds (both) them and you:
For He hears and knows
(All things).

(Holy Quran Chapter 29, Verse 60)

What is the life of this world
But amusement and play?
But verily the Home
of the Hereafter, - that is
Life indeed, if they but knew.

(Holy Quran Chapter 29, Verse 64)

It is God Who sends
The Winds, and they raise
The Clouds: then does He
Spread them in the sky
As He wills, and break them
Into fragments, until thou seest
Rain-drops issue from the midst
Thereof: then when He has
Made them reach such
Of His servants as He wills,
Behold, they do rejoice!

(Holy Quran Chapter 30, Verse 48)

It is God Who
Created you in a state
Of (helpless) weakness, then
Gave (you) strength after weakness,
Then, after strength, gave (you)
Weakness and a hoary head:
He creates whatever He wills,
And it is He Who has
All knowledge and power.

(Holy Quran Chapter 30, Verse 54)

Wrong-doers/அநியாயக்காரர்கள்

Even if the wrong-doers
Had all that there is
On earth, and as much more,
(In vain) would they offer it
For ransom from the pain
Of the Chastisement on the Day
Of Judgment: but something
Will confront them from God,
Which they could never
Have counted upon!
(Holy Quran: Chapter 39, Verse 47)

அநியாயம் செய்தவர்களுக்கு பூமியிலுள்ள அனைத்துமே சொந்தமாக இருந்தாலும், அதற்கு மேல் சொந்தமாக இருந்தாலும், மறுமையின் கொடிய வேதனையிலிருந்து தப்பித்துக் கொள்ள அவை அனைத்தையுமே பரிகாரமாகக் கொடுத்துவிடவே அவர்கள் விரும்புவார்கள். எனினும் அது ஆகக்கூடியதல்ல. அன்றி, அவர்கள் ஒருபோதும் எதிர்கொள்ளாதவை, இறைவனிடமிருந்து வெளிப்படும்.
